Hi, I’m Volker.
I build digital products.
I am a product manager for web and mobile applications and have been working with agile methods for over a decade. I am experienced in leading large (>20) development teams and have been managing and training product-managers for the past 5 years.
I focus on user-centric product-development and have worked on various topics: from conversion optimisation in e-commerce businesses, increasing user activity and engagement in social networks to discovering product market fit for a B2B SaaS platform.
In my career I have been responsible for several big product (re-)launches and developed a number of complex products. I focus on outcome and know how to deliver output fast and in a sustainable way.

I am a skateboarder.
For more than 30 years I have been dedicated to skateboarding. There is nothing better than taking your skateboard and roll down the streets. The feeling when mastering a new trick is incredible and even though I spend more than one summer injured at home I never quit.
Now that I am getting older and my activities in skateboarding have declined I still benefit from the experiences I have made. Having the passion and willingness to try again and again until you finally succeed is a lesson for life. This helps me in my day to day work and enables me to find creative solutions to problems that seemed impossible to solve at first.
I make music.
Since I was a teenager I am fascinated by the art of music production. I started doing some recordings on my own using a small four-track tape-recorder and have been learning about the process of music production for years.
After finishing school I studied media-engineering to expand my knowledge and ultimately to make a living out of my passion.
But my timing was bad: Getting a degree and hoping to get a music-production job wasn’t an option at a time when the mp3 was disrupting a whole industry. Music-studios where closing down and I took the opportunity of an internship at AOL that led into conquering the adventures of the World Wide Web…
Today I compose and produce music in my free time. I own a nice collection of synthesisers and sometimes do some beta testing for companies like Ableton, Elektron or Torso-Electronics. If you want listen to my music just follow these links and you’ll find my latest releases.
